Historic

Lherm, a charming village in the Lot department (Occitanie), has a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages. Thanks to the
presence of iron ore in the surrounding hills, Lherm grew into an important center for ironworking from the 14th century onwards.
The construction of several iron mills brought employment,  prosperity, and craftsmanship to the area. Beneath the town hall lies a small museum that tells the story of the village’s history.

A visit to the Église Notre-Dame-de-L’Assomption is not to be missed. This village church, of Romanesque origin, houses a beautiful Baroque altarpiece and many details that reflect Lherm’s rich past.

Even today, the village retains its authentic atmosphere of peace and history. On the village square, you can enjoy a drink and/or the daily menu at Bar à Trucs, where local beer from the nearby brewery are served — the perfect place to experience village life in Lherm. In summer, local bands often bring extra cheer with live music in a variety of styles.

Canoeing

Enjoy a wonderful canoe or paddle trip on the Lot or Dordogne rivers. Both rivers offer ideal conditions for canoeing, with beautiful nature and calm waters. Whether you are near the Lot or a little further along the Dordogne, it is the perfect way to relax.
